Te book The Unspoken Alliance: Israel's Secret Relationship with
Apartheid South Africa, by Sasha Polakow-Suransky, is already on sale
in U.S. and South African bookstores and online.
It reveals the long-concealed history of military and nuclear ties
between Israel and South Africa during the 1970s and 80s. Based on
newly declassified archival documents and exclusive interviews with
former generals and high-level government officials in both
countries, it tells a troubling story of Cold War paranoia, moral
compromises, and Israel’s estrangement from the left. The book ends
with a discussion of the apartheid analogy and the current debate
over whether Israel is already an apartheid state or is becoming one.
